Sing Better In 3 Days: Day 2
Sing Better Day 2 : For Women
Today's goal is to expand your range in order to see how high and how low you can sing using good vocal technique.
Good vocal technique is really all about what feels good to you. The key word here is "feels." How does the sound feel in your body? It can be really tempting to judge everything on how you sound, or how your think you sound. Because the sound resonates inside your head while you are listening to it, it can actually sound different to you then what it sounds like to everyone else. Have you ever heard a recording of your voice and you thought, "THAT'S what I sound like?" That's why you need to either record your practice or make sure that your singing feels good instead of just basing the sound on what YOU are hearing.
Make sure that your singing feels good. Feeling good can mean open, easy, smooth, comfortable, powerful. Try to start to identify what feels good to you. Do you sound better when it feels good? If so, you can use the feeling to transfer to other parts of your singing.
In this lesson, we are going to start by seeing how low you can sing. Try to maintain a "noble" posture by standing tall and strong, yet relaxed. Make sure that your chin is down and your neck is back in order to align your spine all the way up to the crown of your head.
